Walt Disney's Wizard Of Oz Posted by: freedogshampoo
Video duration: 621 seconds This special aired on September 11th 1957. Walt Disney had always wanted to make a film based on the Oz stories. In 1954, when the movie rights to various Oz books became available, Walt purchased them. Soon, scripts were written for a movie in "Widescreen, color, the works.." But for some reason it was never made. Pretty incredible how much they hyped it. |

Disneyland Goes To The World's Fair (Carousel of Progress) Posted by: freedogshampoo
Video duration: 270 seconds Cool video about GE's Carousel of Progress. GE isn't mentioned as a sponsor because Kodak and RCA, who sponsored Walt Disney's show, also had exhibits at the Fair and didn't want to give GE free publicity. *VaultDisney has a another part from this episode. On his channel you can find the video that showcases Ford's Magic Skyway. |

Imagineering Department - The Plaza Inn Posted by: freedogshampoo
Video duration: 112 seconds John Hench describes his design for The Plaza Inn, which replaced the Red Wagon Inn. This was supposedly Walt's favorite place to eat at Disneyland. It is said that the reason these two restaurants were called "Inns" were because they were stuck "inn" between Main Street And Tomorrowland. *1965 |
